Seguah Africa Initiative has partnered University of Ghana Pensioneers Association
In a groundbreaking move to bridge the generational gap and support elderly wellbeing, Seguah Africa Initiative has partnered with the University of Ghana Pensioners Association (UGPA) to create a vibrant mentroship and support program called Menyin. The collaboration aims to connect retired professionals with younger generations, fostering knowledge transfer, social engagment, and lifelong learning.
Menyin a program dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults, has long championed the idea that retirees still have much to offer society. Through this partnership, UGPA members - seasoned academics, professionals, and administrators - will mentor young adults, providing them with guidance on career development, personal growth, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the initiative promotes elderly digital inclusion, equipping pensioners with modern skills such as social media usage, Youtube content creation, and basic technology training. Tis ensures that they remain connected in today's digital world while actively engaging with the younger generation.
This partnership is not just about empowering the youth- it also proivdes a renewed sense of purpose for retirees. Many pensioners still have the passion and expertise to contribute but lack structured opportunities to do so. By engaging with younger generations, they remain intellectually stimulated, socially connected, and emotionally fulfilled.
For young people, access to experienced mentors accelerates their learning curve, helping them navigate challenges in education, business, and life. The blend of traditional wisdom with modern innovation creates a dynamic ecosystem for personal and professional growth.
Seguah and UGPA are already seeing positive results, with the first batch of mentorship sessions yielding inspiring success stories. The goal is to expand the program nation-wide, bringing in more universities and pensioners associations to create a broader impact.
This initiative serves as a powerful reminder that age is not a barrier to contribution- it is an asset. By fostering intergenerational connections, Seguah Africa Initiative and UGPA are paving the way for a ore inclusive and supportive society wehre knowledge, experience, and human connection thrive.
For those interested in joining the mentorship program- whether as a mentor or a mentee- stay tuned for updates on how you can get involved. Together, we can build a future where no knowledge is lost, and no elder is left behind.
